Families

The hotel features and its location near the Sanctuary and with easy access to popular destinations such as Batalha, Caves of Mira D'Aire, Nazaré, Park of the Dinosaurs, among others, makes it an ideal choice for a family break. Dom Gonçalo is also the place to gather the family on the occasion of an anniversary, baptism or other celebration.

Children are naturally welcome: children's menu, park with slides and swings, room with toys and books to entertain, access to the pool area (if included in the room rate), free cot, free extra beds up to 11 years, internet point! All for the kids greatest fun. And happy, entertained and safe children ... happy parents!

Important notes

The children's room has no surveillance. It is located very close to the Lobby seating area so parents can relax while they read a book or the newspaper or just talk: from there they can see the entrance of the children's room.
The Hotel may not have the children's room available temporarily.
Baby cots and extra beds are subject to availability and confirmation of the hotel.
The extra beds are only fit in the typology of Design rooms (the Classic rooms do not have an extra bed).
Robes and slippers for children are subject to hotel availability.
Being the Dom Spa an area of tranquility and well-being, the hotel reserves itself the right to restrict access or length of stay to minors under 16 years of age from 4 pm, as well as in general to clients whose behavior is disturbing the relaxation environment.
Parents are asked to prevent children from running, jumping into the pool, or in any way causing inappropriate noise.
Children under 16 years old will only be able to attend the Spa when accompanied by an adult.
It is mandatory to wear swimming cap, slippers and swimwear / bikini in the wet circuit. We have swimming caps for sale as well as slippers, at the reception of the SPA (7€ and 3€ respectively).
Children under the age of 4 years or who do not know how to use the bathroom should wear a plastic diaper.
In the children's menu only fresh ingredients, namely fish and meat, are used.

Sanctuary of Fátima and places of memory

Visit the places of Apparitions, Worship and Prayer such as the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fátima, the Colonnade and its "Way of the Cross", the Capelinha das Aparições and the Azinheira Grande and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity.
Other spaces of memory and culture are: the Museum of the Sanctuary of Fátima, the permanent exhibition "Fátima Luz e Paz" on display at the Rectory of the Sanctuary of Fátima, the House-Museum of Aljustrel, the House of São Francisco and Santa Jacinta Marto, and Sister Lucia's house.

Aljubarrota Battle Interpretation Center

A museum of avant-garde, among the most modern in Europe, designed to safeguard and enhance the Military Field of St. George, installed in the place where the battle of Aljubarrota was fought in 1385. It presents this battle in an attractive way including a breathtaking multimedia show.

Both caves are immensely beautiful and worth visiting. The caves of Mira D 'Aire are one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal: an authentic underground cathedral!

Old village and Pia do Urso Ecopark

A rural area that has been requalified for tourism. Its old houses have been rebuilt and an ecological theme park set up. The place has a reception and interpretation center, shops, cafes and restaurants, car park, picnic park, playground, and a mountain bike center.

Monument Footprints of Dinosaurs

Located at the eastern end of the Sierra de Aire e Candeeiros contains an important fossil record of the Jurassic period. In it 20 rails or tracks with footprints of sauropod dinosaurs can be observed.
